WordPress Developer (Berkeley)

• Berkeley, CA (75% telecommute position – potentially 100% after a few months)
The Role:
Seeking a Web Developer with a specialty in WordPress Web Development to work with a full time designer/admin person. Build, test and deploy a WordPress theme based social media site. You must be well versed in WordPress, from install to plugins, theme implementation, troubleshooting bugs, working with child-theme / parent theme process for theme developer updates/site specific configuration of theme functions, multiple language translations (this is a global site).
You will act as a consultant and develop solutions to problems and enhancements that are needed for the site. You will also help with launching the new site and post-implementation support. On-site work will be required during the contract for meetings, updates and other face-to-face meetings when needed.
The Project:
This is a new starting up global social media site, with a healing arts community of 5,000 doubling in size every year. This is a small project with huge potential for growth.
Requirements:
* You must be a WordPress EXPERT! (Modifying style sheets, installing and configuring plugins, etc…)
• You should be able to configure the server/dns/etc. to install and launch the site.
• First responder when systems fail
• 5 years coding experience in HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL and JavaScript
• Strong experience in WordPress including theme development and plugins
• Some server administration experience
• Self-motivated and well organized
• Strong verbal/ communication skills
• Evaluating code to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, meets industry standards and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.
